SYD Henry Lewis is an emerging visual artist working primarily in abstract painting and collage, alongside photography and printmaking. Lewis is pursuing a BFA in Visual Arts at the University of British Columbia, and has studied studio art and art history at UBC, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, McGill University, and the Art Students League of New York, where he focused on colour-field painting and lyrical abstraction. HE ALSO completed two consecutive studio apprenticeships with postwar abstract painter PAT Lipsky in New York City during the summers of 2024 and 2025. Lewis’s work draws on the lineage of postwar abstraction through a contemporary lens and has been exhibited in Vancouver, Montréal, and New York.
